The zone of Freeride Kosovo
Freeride Kosovo offers an opportunity for adventure in the Freeride Zone, located in the Accursed Mountains above the town of Decan, Kosovo, with borders touching Albania and Montenegro. The area offers three different locations, each offering the opportunity to ski for two to three days on different slopes. Some of the slopes can be up to 4 km long, while the average is 2.5 km. The ski area is about 4 km wide and very diverse. The slopes in this area are mainly located on the north and northeast faces of the mountains. The area is known for its rugged wilderness and low number of visitors due to its remote location. Due to its proximity to the Adriatic Sea, these mountains receive the highest snowfall in southeastern Europe and are similar to British Columbia. However, the climate changes from Mediterranean to continental, resulting in cold temperatures. The snow quality is excellent, as the storms coming from the Atlantic Ocean collect the moisture in the Adriatic Sea before depositing it on the mountain peaks. The hotel and accommodation Freeride Kosovo partners with Hotel Bele Resort, located at 1,100 meters above sea level. A 30- to 40-minute transfer to the slopes is included in the package. The hotel has complied with national regulations not to build in the protected areas. The Bele Resort offers very good conditions and local cuisine served in a charming restaurant within the resort. The experience is embellished by the spectacular views from the resort of the surrounding mountains. The resort is located in the village of the same name, which has a rich history, with a small castle dating back to Roman times and icons drawn in the caves around the village. It is a family business, very proud of its ancestry and its contribution to the development of the region, paying decent wages. The hotel is housed in small wooden villas with a living room and two or three bedrooms with two beds. The living rooms are equipped with a fireplace, which provides a wonderful atmosphere for après-ski, games and whiskey conversations. The hotel produces its own electricity, has its own farm and places great emphasis on quality and authenticity of service. The hotel has WiFi and is in the mobile area of one of the Kosovar networks.
